Who can represent a country in official padel
Direct answer
To represent a country in official FIP national-team or national-pair events you must hold that nationality, be registered with that member federation, and meet waiting-period rules. You may represent at most two countries in a career. Naturalised players have extra residence or family-birth tests unless the Board grants a limited exception.

The core requirements
To represent a country in official FIP competitions for national teams or national pairs, a player must:
- Hold the permanent nationality of that country (not merely residence), shown on a valid official identity document
- Be registered with that affiliated member, without outstanding sanctions
- Never have represented another country in an Absolute Continental or World Championship for national teams or national pairs
- Not have represented another country in any official competition in the 36 months before the event
If you acquired the nationality after birth
You also need a genuine link: you were born in that country, or a biological parent or grandparent was, or you have been physically present there for a set number of years (shorter if you moved there before age 10, longer if you moved later).
Federations may ask the FIP Board to authorise up to two players per competition who fail those extra tests but still hold the nationality and can show a real commitment to padel in that country. Applications have deadlines measured in months. Any approval is for that edition only.
Two-country cap and edge cases
A player may represent a maximum of two countries in a career. If a country splits or is absorbed, the regulations include automatic pathways so athletes are not stranded. FIP can ask a member how a squad was selected.
What this means in Pakistan
Building a national team pathway starts with clubs, a functioning affiliated member, and clean eligibility files. It does not start with a tour paint job.
