When FIP world championships happen
Direct answer
FIP presents Absolute World Championships trophies for men’s and women’s teams and national pairs in even years. Junior team and age-group pair trophies, and many senior category trophies, are presented in odd years. That is how the federation spaces its flag events across the calendar.
You do not need the full trophy list. You need to know why one year is full of Absolute national-team padel and the next is full of juniors and seniors.
This follows FIP’s published list of trophies presented by the federation. Exact host cities and dates change each edition.

Even years: Absolute teams and pairs
In even years FIP presents, among others:
- World Padel Teams Championships trophies (men and women)
- World Padel National Couples Championships trophies (men and women)
That is the window fans usually mean by “the World Championships” for senior national teams and national pairs.
Odd years: juniors and seniors
In odd years the federation presents junior team trophies (boys and girls), junior national-pair trophies in age groups such as 18, 16, and 14, and a set of senior (masters) team and pair trophies in age bands.
The sport is not only the televised Absolute final. The odd-year calendar is how younger and older international players get a world event without stacking every category on the same fortnight.
Why the split exists
If every category landed every year in the same window, federations and players would be overloaded. Alternating keeps the World Championship brand active without asking every age group to peak simultaneously.
How to watch it as a club player
Even years: the senior national-team showcase. Odd years: the pipeline and the age-group depth. Neither requires you to copy a professional’s racket. Both are easier to follow once you know which half of the calendar you are looking at.
